The Kids We Lose [Lone Wolf Media] 2018
The Kids We Lose is a 90-minute documentary film about the human side of having a child or student with behavioral challenges, and the struggles faced by parents, educators, staff in facilities, mental health clinicians, and law enforcement professionals in trying to ensure that these kids receive the help they need. The Kids We Lose also exposes the often brutal, inhumane ways in which our kids with social, emotional, and behavioral challenges are treated in schools, inpatient psychiatry units, residential facilities, and prisons.
Paul scored this film along with Wilco’s John Stirratt. The score is based on a studio session in Portland, Maine in spring of 2018 and also features a kids choir recorded in Berlin.
The Kids We Lose premiered at the New Hampshire Film Festival on October 11 and won the Best Feature Documentary Award. The film is now available for screenings- please contact litbdocumentary@gmail.com.
